So I waited for my new 30D to come and it arrived on Tuesday of this week. I then had to wait until today (Friday, due to my job) to buy a CF card for it, so I bought a 1 GB Lexar Professional 133x Speed card and tried to format it. I kept getting an Err 99 on the screen, I tried turning off the camera, I tried taking the battery out and putting it back in and still got the Err 99. After all that, I typed 'Canon 30D Err 99' into Google and found this site http://www.shawnolson.net/a/1276/ along with a few others related to the Err 99.

It pi&&es me off beyond belief that Lexar knows about this problem with their cards and there is not a single mention of it on their product box!!!

man, sorry to hear about that clutch, but also thankful for the info.
I use a sandisk ultra II, 2gb card. Dont know if it is the best/fastest or not, but I have been satisfied with its performance.

I bought a 4Gb Micro drive, only had problems in burst mode. It sure is nice not having to change cards every 100 pics!

Can't speak for the Lexar's, but the Sandisk 2gig Ultra III works great in my new 30D!!

My son has the 20D, and he warned me to stay away from the Lexar cards.

+1 Thanks for the heads up.
