Well i decided to head north to take my buddy on his first pig hunt and see if i could fill my AO tag......So we roll out from OC at 1am get to Paso Robles with plenty of time so we grabbed some Denny's and then off we went headed for the ranch with high hopes....we got to the gate to enter the big property where we can rifle hunt for the pigs so we throw on the packs grab the rifles and off we went we did not get more than a 1/2 mile down this drainage as daylight was breaking i spot a huge group of pigs feeding on the side of a big grassy knoll 150 yards off i can't beleive it...my buddy is freaking out so they have no idea we are there good wind so i tell my buddy lets takem and since i had 2 tags to fill and he had 1 we dropped the hammer i had a big boar down and my buddy said i got one so with pig's running everywhere i pick off another as he was running right at us stone her right in her tracks......what a way to start our hunt off...my buddy still can't beleive it....wish i had a scale cause the boar i hammered was big but young only had 1 1/2 cutter one was broke off.......so that was Friday's hunt....so after cleaning the hogs and gettin them ice down since it was 104 degrees up there.....we decide to go cool off at the hotel get some more pig tags for Sat.....welll to hear about Saturday's hunt your gonna gave to check out the bowhunting forum.
