I haven't reviewed the DFG site for regs but in the Jan '12 edition of American hunter (free w/ NRA membership) there's a "How To" article on Pg. 41. The guy used a Foxpro w/ distresses piglet and sow feeding sounds and says the hogs always come charging fast. he mentions this being successful in several states and included CA in the list.

For what its worth, its illegal to use electronics to call hogs. Saw the same article and looked it up.

If you're using an electronic call for 'yotes and a hog comes in to the call...you called in the hog and can't shoot it legally. Even if you were trying to call something else, it still responded to the call and you're in violation if you shoot.

This can't be true. It is too easy and too logical. No bureaucrat/law maker/rule maker would allow such simplicity.
