elk and bear in az

I thought I would post this over here.I shot this bear while elk hunting with my son in law. I gave some ideas on were to hunt to a guy that frequents this site.enjoy

I was the lucky winner of the az super raffle. My son in law was lucky enough to draw a bull tag in 5bs. We were out opening morning and spotted this bull feeding along the edge of this canyon. He finaly decided to bed down . As we were deciding wether to pursue this bull the bear came along about 50 yrds below the elk.The bull was a very nice 6x6 and since I could hunt bear for a year I told him he could take the bull and we would try for the bear if we had the opp.We had about a half mile to go so we took off to get set up. I stopped about a 100 yrds before the canyon edge to let heath sneak up for the shot on the bull.I waited and waited for the shot but did not hear it. The next thing I know I hear Heath running up. He could not find the bull again but he looked over the rim and the bear was sleeping on a rock below him. The rest was history.The bull we got the next day at 9 in the morning it was a 400 yrd shot and he dropped in his tracks. We took video of Heaths shot on the bull.It took him 20 min to decide if he wanted to take it.

I would have to guess but we think 250 to 300. It had a 19in skull and was a 6ft. My sister lives in calsbad. How is the fishing this time of year?
