This was my kids first elk hunt. They had Juniors tags in Unit 1 for cow. Both were shooting 270 Win Feather weitht with 6.5 to 18 Leupold's.

Wyatt shot his cow Saturday night and got a bad hit. We worked until dark to finish the cow off but just did not happen. Unfortunate as it was, sometimes this happens. We had to pull out to return for the morning.

Sunday morning at day break Mariah shot her cow, the fast quartering job was in the works as we still needed to get Wyatts cow out. after returning to Wyatts Cow and the finishing shot, we were already worn out. Now the quartering of this elk and the pack out to the truck. A lot of work for one morning, but hey, it's the kids man!!

Thanks for looking...

That'll fill the freezer in a hurry. Great job by the young hunters and PaPa/Dad for being the pack mules.

Congrats! You guys wrote the book on Family Hunting. Happy for you all. Congrats to the kids. Tell, Wyatt, I'll be right behind SDHNTR with a sledge hammer. If SD trys to cut Wyatt's hair, I'll knock him out and take his Sitka Gear.
