I can never think of anything to get my 78 year old Dad for Christmas so when my sis called me asking for gift ideas I gave my normal "I don't know" response. Then an idea popped into my head, "Why don't we all go together and buy him a guided hog hunt?". My sis thought that was a great idea! So, I set up a hunt for Dad with Tom Willoughby from King City and being as I didn't want him to go alone I went along too!

We met Tom and his son, Blake, in San Miguel at 6:15 yesterday morning and followed them out to where we hunted. Dad went with Tom and I headed out with Blake. Dad ended up dropping his hog at 0745 with a 200 yard shot

out of his pre-64 mod 70 30-06. A nice boar weighing about 200 pounds. Not to be outdone I dropped my hog at 200 yards with my post-64 mod 70 30-06 at 0945! A nice 200 pound sow.

Dad was pretty happy with the hunt and is already thinking about going again! I'll post pics after I get them developed.

Congrat's MEF,

I think Tom is one of the better guides in the area. Blake is gonna take over his operation wim his dad retires. Those are gonna be some big shoes to fill. I have hunted with blake and he is an outstanding guide. Glad you and your father scored.

. Those guides know where piggie heaven corner is & they love doing what they do & take good care of their customers. That is how my one & only Calif. guided hog hunt went. Good, hard working guides. God Bless. larrysogla.
