Oh jeez, what a moron. It's already too late and the editorial makes it sound like these "exotics" were an overnight creation in SD county. Blame the spanish settlers 400 years ago. Good luck trying to eradicate them.

Notice how the pig is demonized must be destroyed and the Gray wolf is a "noble" creature and is worthy of preservation? Just another example of the liberal environmentalists trying to create a personal habitat that meets their preconcieved notion of what natures supposed to be like.

It is what it is, quite meddling.

I like how he finds away to argue against hunting as a management tool. We should get rid of pigs, yes. But hunting oh no that’s just bad. We should give them birth control patches and condoms instead. Let them live a long life on the pasture then die of old age… How about environmentalist and hunters team up on this one and let the wild pig lose it’s big game status eliminating tag fees or allow hunting over feeders. Then you will see the take go WAY up.

It's getting to the point where I enjoy reading the comments more than the articles.

I actually read the article, waiting for the liberal environmentalist turning point, and shouted "AHA!".

They should bring the wolf and grizzley to CA. They have a taste for unarmed tree huggers in the back country!

Evidently, the mountain lions and black bears are NOT doing the job correctly! :smiley-mouse:

Maybe we should bring back Dire wolves to CA! No, wait....they're extinct....after they ate all the other megafauna into extinction.

Really, Urbanites really don't have a clue, they need to get off the asphalt and see reality.

I would imagine that most of these people don't even realize the elk, deer, etc. populations are decreasing because of the increased predation. There so fixed on supporting this one animal
that they can't see what the animal is doing to the whole ecosystem.

I have a liberal friend who thinks this will all work itself out lol. I was explianing the mountain lion presence to the decreasing deer population. He felt the lions would eventually starve. I then explained that they will simply leave the area and descimate another herd. He looked shocked. I guess he figured since they didnt own a Prius it would simply stay put and slowely die as he was led to believe.:rotflmao:

You may want to remind him that when they eat all the deer, elk, etc. that there are another 39 million prey animals available in California...

Well sort of. We are armed. Most HSUS and Sierra Club are not.

Remind him of the poor jogger that was killed a few years ago in San Diego County. I'll bet when the lion was ripping her throat out, she thought the "hands off" approach to mountain lions was a bad idea.

I'd much rather have the pigs in the CNF than the illegals, who use it as an open highway. Atleast when the pigs breed, I don't have to pay for their medical bills, kids education, welfare, housing assistance and so on and so forth.

I remember that! I was deployed and my wife mailed the article. I couldnt stop laughing. That and the "Bear Man" have to be my favorite examples of people completly out of touch with reality.
