FHL 2/16-2/17

Hello all, 5 Shot and I will be down at FHL 2/16-2/17 and if anyone else from the forum is going to be there, it would be great to meet and put a face to the name.

I hear that! What are you guys using? We are taking our muzzle loaders and rifles.

were taking bows and shotguns...Taking a rifle just in case we try out a new area. We will be in a brown toyota prerunner, a Grey Ford F250 with 5th wheel and you wont miss the Nutrishop wrapped nissan exterra..lol

come up and say hi...drink some beers.

probably the same...which ever allows archery and shotgun,,,its been about 7yrs since ive been. I think they changed the TA numbers on me ..haha

it was frikken cold !! lol
saturday morning I saw a big spotted pig 200 yards away heading toward the riverbed in TA29...we went looking for it but couldnt find it.
Saturday evening we see a nice brown one ......it was coming out of canyon at about 545 pm. I get my bow and walk down the canyon to get a better shot since I was 85 yards away - upward...My friend Izzy has a shotgun so I put him on it. Its his first time pig hunting and hes never even seen one....So the pig is walking like nothing, wind is perfect and he cant hear a thing.
Izzy has time to stalk within 52 yards, chambers one, aims and fires...The pig even stopped so Izzy can aim...
He shoots and misses by like 4 inches above the shoulders !!!! Pig runs back up the Canyon and out of site.
Izzy is at home - Crying. LOL

Some guys shot 2 pigs in TA25 ...one was a huge sow !! the other was a smaller boar

Good job you got on them and your buddy got a shot. That is the hard part. Bummer he didn't connect but I bet he gets some practice in before he goes back.

At least Israel got a shot off. Next time. Bet if he had zero his scope before hand he would've connected. By the way it was nice meeting u guys!

Let me know if you're up for another next time you go, I'm down in ventura and have been looking to get up to FHL for a while but don't know anyone who knows the place.

Motodave...for sure...we want to get out there before summer..keep in touch , its a nice place to hunt and camp.
