Just had a couple of questions.  I read the other info on the site and  couldn't find the answers I'm looking for.  I know guns are to be unloaded, but do they want some type of locking mechanism on them too?  I saw it's open Friday 2-7.  Is there hunting allowed on Friday, and if not, will they let you use the time to scout a little?  Just curious!! Thanks for the help.  Anybody slay any swine last weekend.  Good luck all on your future endeavors.

They don't let you do any scouting on friday.  I believe that access to the field for hunting isn't allowed until saturday am.  I'm not sure about the locking mechanism, but I would think standard protocol for transporting firearms.  Ask the people at the check station when you get there.

You do not need a locking mechanism. When you enter the gate, be sure to have your ammo seperate from your firearm and in a locked box. (your glove box will do.)

When you pull up to the gate. First they will ask for driver's license & ins. Then they will ask what you're plans are. When you hunting. They will ask you to pull over to the side. They will then ask to inspect you're firearms, to make sure they are not loaded. Then they will ask if you have any handguns. When you say no. They will then say ok go ahead. No access to training area's aloud on friday. You have to have vouchers or annual sticker on license. Since the store is closed they DO NOT sell them anymore. Must be purchased through mail. Campground is self register 5.00 a day. Hope this helps you (wavesfr)
