We got evacuated yesterday at 17:22 hours. We packed & grabbed everything breathing. Made our game plan to drench the hillside behind the cabins (we've got a 45K gallon fire system here). Prepared to fight. Went to the top of Bryson Hesperia Road where we could see the fire and it was a few miles away, but pretty hot and headed our way. The bombers & hand crews did another awesome job atiotic-wavin-flagand we were out of the woods by approx 20:00 hours. :not-worthy: Firefighters Rock!
We flew in from Alaska yesterday, and got a good look at it. Smoke column looked to be somewhere between 15 and 20,000 feet, and settling North into the valley. Good to hear the borate bombers are kicking butt, be safe guys.
Thank you very much for the thoughtful wishes, it's nice to know you guys are thinking of us!
Here is the update from Cal-Fire:
3,468 acres - 100% containment as of August 4, 2009 1:45 pm

This fire wont mess our pig/deer hunting up at all, if anything, we'll probably see a few homeless wayward critters around! :welcome sign:I'll have the welcome sign out for them.
