This year or previous years? I know one guy on here got a cow tag. Last year I helped 2 people with a bull tag. And had 2 other people I know get a bull tag in 03', 05', and 08' through the military side.

LtDan if it wasn't on Thanksgiving day I would have been more than happy to tag along and help you carry her out. Unfortunately that happens to be my family's favorite day.

Thanks for the offer and I totally understand. The orientation is on 19th and the hunt goes 20-29 Nov this year. Gives me 9 days. Depending on what they open up and when they open it, I'm hoping to be done early. I really don't want to be up there for the whole hunt, its cold when the sun goes down! Consisently 28 degrees if I remember correctly.

There's enough folks around that if needed, I could get some help. I've got the cart, a winch and 300ft of rope. Last time, I had to get the DFG guy 'cause the cow dropped about 40 ft inside a restricted zone. The rules said I had to get permission and the guy and his partner pitched in.

Its all good!

I got the call today. I was #1 alternate for the October cow hunt. Somebody backed out and now I get to go. I'm psyched! First elk hunt. I also have the G-8 hunt in October. I guess I'll be spending a lot of time at FHL in October.

My brother-in-law (cook82) drew the December Bull hunt. Orientation is on December 21st. I am shaking just thinking about it and I am not even the one hunting. He is one lucky SOB.

the hunting gods were with me this year. Now if I can just talk my co-worker into letting me use his samurai we'll be in the money!

Very nice Huntr Pat. fIt sounds like your freezer will be filled with elk meat this winter. Where are all of your hunts?

If you're meaning this year we have know tags. But we have been lucky in the past. I had a chance to hunt in new mexico for elk but Rotator cuff surgery said not this year.
