I finally got the chance to check out all the information regarding FHL. I was surprised to see how big and how many areas were huntable. My question is, for a first time hunter at FHL, which areas would you all recommend for pigs?

I guess everyone doesn't want to give away their hunting area. Thanks everyone!

I have never hunted there. ask HunterPat he has had some good success there.
Edit: Oh and be patient, just cause you are on the computer and anxious for the info doesn't mean everybody else is spending one of their two days off at the puter. I just happened to stop in for a few min. after a moring short 25 mile ride on the bicycles with some friends.

If you want to succed in FHL you need to invest time. Learn the lay of the land. Spend the afternoon hours looking for trails and tree rubs. The pigs are there, get in before sunrise and make sure you are far and away from morons with guns. Sit at a high point and glass, dont get discouraged. Best bets are 25,23,24,10/13,7. But you will only succed if you put in time. Make sure the wind is in your favor, dont slam your car doors, dont talk loud, and dont wear your armani cologne. The reason i dont hunt FHL is because i got shot at by quail hunters. A group of quail flushed 50 yards in front of me and a group of guys were driving by and soon as they saw the birds they got out of their car and started shooting my direction. But besides the idiots that are out there FHL is very scenic and has lots of game. The pigs will start rooting soon so look for that. Happy hunting.

I don't think it's a matter of no one wanting to give up their favorite spot, this question has been asked many many times here. Plenty of old threads here with TA numbers mentioned in them to try for.

Off the top of my head, 10, 13, 30, 15, 16, 9, 24, 25, 29, 7. Some are primitive weapon, bow only and walk in only so it all depends on what trips your trigger.

Hi Bret,

How was your luck using the other maps that I posted? No secrets at FHL, plus I have mapped all the hunting areas with an UTM Grid overlay. Here is my Link:

http://www.geocities.com/trail_cam/

During my early days of hunting at FHL (before GPS) I used to get lost for hours in that place. The terrain all looks the same, plus there are numerous radio towers and tank roads that all look the same.

Starting next year AOL will no longer offer free picture storage, so if you want anything, save it to disk now. I plan to pull the plug soon.

Richard

Forgot to mention that GeoCities is a free web site, so there is a limit to the amount of data it will put out during a certain time frame. It will shut down for a while, and you will have to return in a few minutes if you want more. If you want all the maps, it will probably take you a month.
