FHL Regs and shotgun questions

Going down this weekend and aside from my rifle and instead of my muzzleloader I was thinking about my 12 Ga Benelli with slugs but I was wondering are all of the areas that muzzleloaders are allowed are shotguns as well? My benelli has a smooth bore can I effectively shoot slugs from it or would the slug screw up my choke threads or should I be using an improved cylinder choke? I guess if I am this confused maybe just leave the shotgun at home anybody have advice

They don't make a legal lead free rifled slug for smoothbore shotguns. So shooting lead free sabots (designed for rifled barrels) is next to useless. You might get 25-30 yds with poor accuracy and in my mind, a waste of money. Them lead free sabots go about $3 a pop. Regardless, you'd always leave a improved or modifed choke in your shotgun when shooting rifled slugs just so you DON'T screw up the threads. Because we have to use lead-free in the condor zone, most folks go to ML or get a spare rifled barrel for their shotguns. i've known a few guys that bought a cheap HR single shot rifled shotgun and claim good results.

Thank You I figured there would be something more to it I appreciate the education. I will rely on my muzzleloader and rifle depending on what winds up being open this weekend.
