Had my best day for #'s yesterday. Found three fresh sheds all from 1.5 y/o's in the first 1/2 hour. Then found two off 2.5 y/o's that were hold overs from years past. I found the two old ones within 60 yards of where I found my best set last year. An area that I thought I had scoured really well the last year and once already this year. I'll post on the WI Pics thread when I get my film developed. No bigs though

How was the shedding for you this weekend?

Nice day! Congrats!

It's funny how that happens, I'll check an area so good I can recall every rock and the 200 branches that look like main beams...but go back the next year and find year old sheds....I just tell myself that they dropped after I left (yeah mid July.... that's it LOL)

Finally got some film developed. Here are pics of the five little ones I found on 3-14-04.

First a little 3 point 15 minutes into the walk.

About 5 minutes later, found this little four point. His main beam was broken off early and polished smooth.

In the same little bedding area just a few minutes later, I found this little fork. Three fresh sheds off 1.5y/o bucks within 75 yards.

Searched all over, but couldn't complete any of the three sets so I headed down into another bedding area on the same property where I found a heavy set last year. I stopped to decide what what high spot to hit next and something caught my eye at my feet.

And lastly, about 20 yards form the burried one was this old, faded and chewed side of four face down on a high spot in the swamp.

The last two, the old ones, were found about 60 yards from where I found a heavy set last year. Don't know how I missed the chewed and faded one. The burried one I can understand. The burried one had good mass for a smaller antler and I suspect it is either a earlier antler from the set I found last year, or at least shares his genetics. Four point frame, bladed G2, and tough to see in this pic, but a flat surface on the top side of the ends of both main beams. For their size, they also carry a lot more mass than most bucks from this area.

Leinies,

Nice Finds on the sheds, Those Pine needles really help to make them stand out. The one burried in the ground is Impressive to have seen that... To find as many as you did in the short period of time now thats good stuff...

This is my 1st real year trying hard to find sheds and not doing so good, But having fun in the meantime... so far Found 5 sheds 1 nice skull and a Fox skull...

Some great pics. Glad you pulled that one out of the moss, cause I was guessing if that was tines I was seeing or something else.

I guess that is a good example of the 3 inch rule. Thanks for the post.
