First Bow Kill

Well, since hunting hogs at Vandy land with a rifle/muzzleloader has become relatively easy, I switched to Bow hunting them. I got my first one last Tuesday. He was broadside at about 20 yards. He dressed out at 84lbs. Sorry, my cell pics didn't turn out.

Now it's time to go find a big boy to match my VAFB muzzleloader hog record.

congrats on your first bowkill hog! so was killing the a wild game animal with a bow more challenging and EXCITING then using a gun? cant wait to see the photo's, and you should of made your first bowkill story more exciting, right! mayby next time, thanks for sharing and have a great day!......................tra

I just wish I had been there to see it. Good shooting and don't bother with a big one. They're too much work. I agree that it has gotten kind of ridiculous hunting hogs at VAFB, so I'm next, Rich!

For everyone, it's not that were bragging, its just that hogs are so easy to get close to. We are using this as stalking practice for bigger and better animals. FYI, most of the hogs I've taken have been under 100yds and several at 50yds or less. A couple of them were about 10 yrds.

Good luck to everyone else, hog hunting is a blast, not to mention the good meat from them.
