Spotted this hog at around 1000 yards. Closed the distance in half with the jeep, then started our foot pursuit. Went to the spot where we last saw him feeding and he was gone. we started up the road glassing below us for several minutes. Then I caught movement out of the corner of my eye and there he was working his way up a small draw below us. My nephew sat down and got on the shooting sticks. The hog was at a slow walk and I ranged him at 227 yards. I told my nephew "take him when you are ready". He sent a 100Gr 25WSSM through both shoulders. The hog ran 30 yards and fell over dead. THEN THE HIGH FIVES STARTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:smiley_yahoo:

Congratulations!!! Especially to the young marksman/hunter. That is a beautiful hairy looking beast. The uglier the hogs are.......the better looking they are to me. The uglier the hogs are.......the more my itchy trigger finger loves to drop the hammer on 'em.
