First Pig Hunt

My captain took my son and I hunting on the California coast on Jan. 2. About 10:30 in the morning, we came upon a small herd. As we were glassing them and picking out the one we wanted, we almost got busted by a coyote that popped up over the bank! Fortunately, he ran off into the woods and not back down the hill toward the pigs. The weather was spectacular. 65 degrees with the wind in our face. He only made it about 60 yards from the first shot. He dressed out at 63 pounds. What a hunt! My son and I are both hooked!!!!

I wish it was public as we would be headed there again today, but it was private. 1800 acre private ranch just south of Fort Ross in Northern Ca.

Congrats on your first pig hunt. You definitly will be addicted to it. I love those spotted pigs, all of mine have been solid in color. I am looking for a good spotted pig to hang on my wall.
