I just got back from Arizona from a few days off with my wife. I can see why so many people love going to Arizona. We saw some wonderful country and met a lot of great people.

A lot of people were complaining about the trouble they were having with javelina, especially around Sedona.

My question is I would love to go back during the Javelina season to bowhunt with my son. Can anyone suggest any particular areas in which we can hunt or recommend a contact or guide for this hunt. I could probably only spare about 4 or 5 days to hunt.

Hi Epic. One of the places that you might consider is area 12B. I did some deer hunting in the area last January and saw quite a few Javalina. The son of one of my hunting partners took one last year and another budy of mine with a tag had a few chances as well. If you choose to hunt this area shoot me an email and I will give you some more specific area info.

since 1989 I've been hunting unit 34 A, it is South, but the elevation is around 4000 ft. so in late Feb. the morning temps will be about 30-35 and daytime highs from 65-80 depending on the year.

Lots of Javelina in 34 A. I usually hunt south of Mt. Wrightson.

Javalina is a draw tag for AZ. I don't know if they will sell over the counter tags in January or not. Application deadline was yesterday at 5PM.

Great hunting experience from what I've heard.

I don't think they'll sell over the counter but I'd check the AZ Fish & Game website every day to see if they have any leftover tags after the draw.

That being said, anyone know how soon the draw results will be out?
