CenCalChris, Right now there are 2 streams, one looks like it is only running because of all the rain fall. The one that you can see from the fire road seems like it would run year round. There are other water sources in the area but they are on private property. Not sure what's up by the summit. Next time I go I plan on hiking down to the stream to take a look around. Feel free to join me next time I go.

Johnboy31, I have no clue about hunting turkey's, I have never hunted turkey's but I know there are at least 2 up there. Sorry that's not more useful.

Another good place is Stockdale Mtn in Parkfield ca it's BLM land and requires lots of hiking.

Henry, have you hunted Stockdale Mtn. I have heard that it is more trouble than it is worth with the local landowner, LEO, ect. Pal we should meet up, I wouldn't mind splitting up and taking on that mountain. One thing though, I am at the hospital right now with my wife and newborn son. I think I have a month or so before I can hit the great outdoors again.

I have read many posts, they all seem to agree on staying out of Stockdale Mtn unless you really know the land boundaries.

Be ware! When I tried to map Stockdale Mountain BLM I found conflicting data. At one time everyone was supposed to follow the Quarter-Quarter Section Lines, but I guess that went out the window when ranchers started putting up fences?

Yes we did. Although we did not get to meet there...looked for each other in the a different place.
I did not see any pigs. Was there form 11 to 2...not the best time either. My first time there...so good to see the area. Did get a rabbit.

BrittGPS818, I'll send you a PM in a couple of weeks when my schedule clears up a bit. I was going to try to get out there late-April/early-May.

Anyone know if there's camping allowed in that area? I was thinking of getting there mid-afternoon, scout for the remainder of the day and again the next morning before heading out around noon.

Nope, never been there before. I've been looking around LPNF but have not found anything suitable yet. Hopefully, Laguna Mtn will provide for a better hunting opportunity.
