Hi guys,

My buddy and I drew X9A for the first time this year. We've been hunting D11 for the last few years but haven't been able to connect yet so we are hoping to score our first bucks this year. We are planning to hunt near Bishop and the big question seems to be whether to go high or stick to the lower sage country. I have been up camping a couple times with my family but only saw does so far - caught a mess of trout though. Going to head up for some more scouting 9/5. Any advice on hunting this zone would be very appreciated.

Thanks,
Frank

Frank,

send me an instant message and I will see if i can give you some places to look, we have been up there every three years when we get lucky and draw it. We take at least one buck each time.

Have you hunted or has anyone hunted Mt. Tom or Horton lakes via buttermilk road?

No I haven't hunted that area. This is my first time hunting X9A. Is Mount Tom a good spot?
