So, the DFW is raffling off a few DIY hunts at Tejon Ranch. How feasible is it for a lightly experienced hunter to get his first pig DIY there? Not looking for a trophy boar, just want to score on a pig without paying lotsa money for a guided hunt? Looking for you guys to shake some sense back into me. I have gotten a few mule deer in Utah back in the 90's. Trying to get into the California Hunting culture.

Thanks in advance for your encouragement and brutal honesty.

Tejon is an awesome ranch, with pigs all over the place. I killed mine at 8 am the first morning.

Assuming the hunt is at least two days and you're using a rifle, you should have no problem getting on some hogs. Time of year and weather plays a factor in how active they will be, but there's tons of pigs there. Good luck in the drawing

Thanks to everyone who applied. Kuma, PM's aren't working for me right now. Seems to be happening to a lot of guys. Jesse's working on it.

uy it online, like $11 to try your luck.
Sign in, click on purchase licenses, then under hunting there will be a drawing category.

Good luck!

What are the bag limits? and also if i read it right i can bring a partner to hunt also or just a partner but not allowed to hunt? how many ppl do they draw per day/weekend. Does JHO still do the may pig o rama? id like to sign up and learn some things and meet some people. New to pig hunting. Thanks for your time

just got back from a couple hour trip . saw a nice sounder of 20-30 this morning off on an ultra steep face. but if you get drawn its a one pig opportunity, not as easy as it sounds, i rang the bell 2 out of 3 management hunts last year. first hunt skunked, but the place is awesome nothing better in socal
