Hello All,
First time poster long time reader.

My friend and I are going to Ft. Hunter Liggett for the first time this weekend looking for pigs. Now, I don't expect you guys to divulge your secret hot spots but any help would be appreciated. What area should we try first? We will be there all day so any time related advice would be good too. Anyone else going to be there this weekend? I will report back on Monday.

Thanks Mike

Dont know if you can do this or not but if you can go in on friday afternoon and sign in, you can look at the harvest book and see where they have been taking them latley. most of the place will be early morrining or late evening action unless you find a bedding area and roust them out and get a shot. 29 has always been good if you use bow shotgun or muselloader. 10/13 , 24, 9, 7 and so on they are taken from all over the place.

You do have your permit dont you?

I'm not sure what area's are open this weekend... but 10/13, 9, 15, 16, 24, 25, 27, 29, and 30 are good area's to try and get into pigs. 29 and 30 are walkin and primitive weapons only though: archery, muzzeloader, and shotgun. But they are good area's.

Try and get checked in friday if you can and then be out in the field right at first light.

The areas previously mention are great areas, he left out a few. I leave 29/30 out for the time being because the birds hunter being shootin up the place and evry body and their brother is spooked. But this my 2 cents for all its worth.

Sorry, I probably wont get this to you in time for this weekend, but call me at Bryson Resort I have some very cool maps that might help Deedy 805-472-2922. I see that you live in Atascadero so you are close to me - I'm around the corner from FHL in Bradley- I hope you didn't freeze to death this weekend.

The FHL game shack pipes are busted, and about 4 of mine broke at Bryson Resort (my fault I missed a 2" section of insulation at the top of the riser-what was I thinking) Fish and Game around the corner has 2 out in his attic, my ranger friend who is supposed to be HUNTING all weekend at FHL is instead fixing pipes at the lakeside resort he works at. You could probably trade a 3/4" threaded nipple for a hog hunt right now.
