Special report: seems that young lad opened this spigot. Since last Thursday, we've had three pigs come off the property. The guys who were successful yesterday shot them on the far north side of the property. They hunted together and came across a group of 12 - they let 10 of them get away. One nice boar (~200lbs) and a big sow (~275lbs). They shot them around lunch, and finally got the boar out around 8:00 at night. They hung the sow from a tree and came back in this morning to retrieve her. They were ecstatic, and so was I.

"poacher lover". That's pretty funny. What's not funny is knowing that I probably hunt the same areas as that yahoo.

He went off on you Jesse. :lol bashing sign: with his post in reply to yours, calling you a "poacher lover" and a "disgrace to wildlife".

You never wrote him back?????

Man, the way that guy went off was funny :rotflmao: I agree, poachers suck big time, but an unsafe hunter scares the crap out of me.

Ok dad and I are back from the Bobcat Ranch terrain punishment. One dead pig (about 150 lbs. dressed) for us and about 40 more still making noises in the thick chapparal when we left. We need a good chef/pharmacist to make pork into aches and cramps medicine. And yeah I'm willing to give away one ham to a nice young concubine to massage away my pains. By the way dad was the lucky applicant, not me. I'm only the skinner and pack mule. Sorry we left the camera back at the truck so unless you guys want to see a pic of all the skinned and quartered meat, it's probably not worth posting it. Our pig was the only one harvested for first day period 7. Good luck to the rest of the period 7 and period 8 hunters.

And thanks DFG for this hunt opportunity. It made my 72 year old dad still pretty much half mt. goat considering we walked in the gate at 6:45am and back out the gate at 8:30pm. The DFG guy at the parking lot was very helpful. I didn't quite get his name, but many thanks to him for waiting for our slow butt coming down the mt.

My name is Marc, and you're welcome... I'm glad you and your dad had fun. I'm a big proponent of family activities in the outdoors, and it was nice to see you two still getting out there. I was also glad to see you change out of your socks and flip-flops into some boots before heading out there.

Hey Marc, it was nice meeting you. I wish we had more time to hang around and share some more hunting stories. Apparently we came out late and everybody was in a hurry to get out of there. Again thanks for all the helpful info about the ranch. Hopefully we will meet again somewhere if not at the bobcat ranch again.

Did anyone else get a pig today? I wish we were still there to show someone the spot, but everyone was gone when we got back.

congrats to your dad, and what a great son you are to go with and pack mule for him. Did you to find them close to the check gate or did you walk all the way to the back?

We were pretty far back, but we didn't see the boundary flags yet. From where we were, we could see other people came within 500-600 yards from us, then turned around and went back. One guy came all the way up to us and since all that meat were too heavy for us to pack out, we gave him some meat to make our load lighter.
