I've seen those salamanders in my front yard on and off especially after a rain. Also in the deep dark canyons in Los Padres National Forest and the Ventana Wilderness, I've seen many species of salamanders including the ones that look like the one in the photo.

maybe I am reading this wrong but a study of an endangered species means fewer homes in the area impacted which equals MORE hunting space not less.

Could be a double-edged sword... but the upshot is that a population of endangered animals on Tejon could be the death knell for the development plans.

I get this funny feeling that it will be just as bad for the salmander if hunters are crawling up and down north facing slops and troding through streams in the canyons. Dont sound good to me, dont forget this is California.

Some geographical development joe shmo wrote to F.W.S. saying Tejon should be looked at when he has not even been there nor has ever seen one of the salamanders......rubbish....it is just something to put in the news paper and i am sure, will not be followed up by anything....

I bet they will find the salamander is poisoned by copper fragments.:lol bashing sign:

On a serious note the development will go through they just may make some concessions like they all ready have, they went from four golf course to two. Also this latest endangered species may affect the northside more than the south.
