AMERICAN RIVER--Anglers were still catching lots of shad, including an increasing number of bigger females, from Harrington Access all the way to Nimbus Dam, with the fishing some evenings very good, and others only fair. Striped bass to 20 pounds were taking swimbaits, Rebels and Lucky Craft plugs.
