FISHING REPORT


Southeastern Lower
Detroit River: Perch were biting just east of Stony Island at 4-5 feet.
Lake St. Clair: Yellow perch were biting at 15 feet one mile east or west of the St. Clair Light, near channel markers 26 and 27, near sailboat marker M and east of Grosse Pointe Yacht Club at 15-16 feet.

Lexington, Port Sanilac: Salmon were biting on spoons at 20-40 feet.


Southwestern Lower




New Buffalo: Very good for perch at 30-35 feet.

St. Joseph: Good for chinook salmon at 40-80 feet.

St. Joseph River: Good for bass between Buchanan and Berrien Springs.

South Haven: Good for perch at 30-50 feet south of pier. Salmon and brown trout also were biting.

Grand Haven: Chinook and coho salmon were biting near pier.

Grand River: Bluegills were biting near Lansing.

Muskegon: Good for chinook salmon between pier heads.


Northeastern Lower




Tawas: Salmon, lake trout, brown trout and walleye were biting, mostly at 50-80 feet.

Oscoda: Salmon were biting at 20-40 feet early and 80-100 feet late.

Harrisville: Salmon were biting just inside and outside the breakwalls.

Presque Isle: Salmon were biting at 40-90 feet in waters 60-120 feet deep between the two lighthouses and near Stoneport.


Northwestern Lower




Ludington: Chinook salmon and steelhead were biting early just outside the piers and up to five miles out later in day. Also good in Pere Marquette Lake.

Pere Marquette River: Good for salmon above Custer.

Manistee: Good for salmon.

Grand Traverse Bay: Salmon were biting in east bay.

Charlevoix to Harbor Springs: Good for salmon at 80-115 feet.


Upper Peninsula




De Tour, St. Ignace: Excellent for salmon.

Little Bay de Noc: Smallmouth bass were biting near Hunter's Point, in mouth of Day's River and near tip of Black Bottom.

Big Bay de Noc: Smallmouth bass were biting in Garden Bay, north of Round Island and from Snake Island to Snail Shell Harbor.

Munising: Good for lake trout.

Menominee River: Good for walleye from Ogden Street Bridge to Boom Landing.

Michigamme River: Good for walleye.

Perch Lake: Good for panfish.
