This is not African related, but just about everyone has to fly to Africa to hunt, so I figured this would be a good place to ask. My son (17) will be going to Wyoming without me to hunt antelope. Does anyone foresee TSA/ the airlines having a problem with him declaring unloaded firearms at check in (I'll be there at check in as well, and my buddy on the return trip)? I've looked at the regulations and can't find anything on the subject except to "declare firearms and have them unloaded."

I think that you have to be 21 to transport firearms on a commerical airline. I would call them and ask.

I called United, who he will be using (got lots of miles with them), there's no problems with him flying with firearms as long as it isn't to New York, which requires a permit and to be 21. That solves that problem.
