Very interesting. But big money covers all sins. If you want to know what I mean look into how Griffith Park was granted. What is thebetting line on a out of court settlement with major confidentiality clauses ? Not sure what DFG will do, but you know what I'm thinking.

Let's see. He's seen 20 dead, heard of another guide killing 12 and another guide killing 30 so that's 62 mountain lions on 270,000 acres?!?!? Given what I understand is the usual home range of lions I don't think that is possible.

Trust me, it's VERY possible. Thats one lion for every 4,350 acres. A place like that can EASILY hold 4-5 lions per 4,300 acres.

Well...maybe not...

What they have learned is that home ranges vary widely in size, depending on local vegetation, prey density, and the time of the year. Male home range size can vary from 25 to 500 square miles, while females usually occupy smaller areas of from 8 to over 400 square miles. Sitton and Wallen documented some of the smallest home ranges in the Big Sur region of coastal California, where the average home ranges were 25 to 35 square miles for males and 18 to 25 square miles for females.

(source: http://www.mountainlion.org/cal_ch3.asp )

FYI - 270,000 = 422 square miles

If the accusations are indeed correct, then I vote that the people who manage Tejon Ranch, be allowed to manage our local mountains. Im personally tired of mountain lions destroying all other game species and the state of california doing nothing about it. Besides, if this guy thought it was so wrong why didnt he report this BS the first time he saw one killed illegally.

After reading the times article, he is quoted as saying he had not seen a fish and game warden on the ranch in his 6 1/2 years. I have hunted the Tejon through pig o ramas and spring pass for the last 8 years. I have seen fish and game wardens and been stopped by them. While hunting on the tejon. These type of situations usually come down to credibility. Six and one half years no game wardens over 30 lions killed illegally? I already know who is not telling the whole truth.

Guys I have been a spring member on tejon for years, and have spent many of weekends up there. I have been almost everywhere and I personally have only seen 1 cougar in person on the ranch...lots of tracks but only one live pussy cat...
That being said I also know Bron, he's a really nice guy and also is extremely knowledgeable of the ranch...and I have a hard time believing that he is lying?.....something just isn't addin up....Just my 2 cents....
But I also agree....LA slimes is reporting....and the attorney that he is using isn't a employment law attorney! And when this is all said and done...it's still nothing more than an employment suit.

"Sanders seeks at least $500,000 in lost wages and other compensation."

Dang. I thought guides didn't make a lot of money? I guess this is one way to make a living.

I love the comments from the city dwelling flat landers. I have 7 years of military service left before I retire and I am gone. One more productive member of Ca fleeing the fruits and nuts in this state.

For your statement to be even remotely plausible, the place would have to have more than 500 deer per 4300 acres.

Bron was kind of hit and miss with us. My dad and I would go up there every weekend and saw him all the time, after the first couple of times he wouldn't even check our passes. Then all of a sudden one day we were fishing at the res on the north side and he insisted on searching my truck for kept bass. I've never kept a bass in my life! I'd rather get a salmon filet for 5 bucks than keep a bass. He was a complete a**hole about checking the cooler too. You never know what you're gonna get from the guides at Tejon.

I saw three lions 3 weeks ago on the South Side just above SQ. Canyon two cubs and Mama, and they were moving fast, until they saw me.

10 minutes later, I saw 4-5 pigs running away down hill, that was the end of my hunt, it freaked me out

I've PERSONALLY seen many lions, both in person and on my trail cams. Most I've seen together in person was 5. On trail cams, I've had up to 3 different lions pass by in a single week. I'll trust my own eyes and experiences over any website/ article/ etc... especially ones geared toward protecting them. You can argue what I say if you want, but just know that I'm over here shaking my head. The numbers reported in the article are not far fetched whatsoever.
