I'm not new to hunting but am new to California hunting. Where I grew up on the east coast you just buy your hunting license, take your gun and head out onto any public land you wish to hunt or private land if you gain permission.
California it seems that every piece of public land has it's own set of rules and red tape to go through. (Often with fees attached) and permission to hunt private land comes at the cost of several hundred dollars instead of a conversation and a handshake.
I'm looking into hunting FHL since it's within easy driving distance and seem recommended as a place you have a chance of finding pigs on a DIY hunt. I've read up a bit on their website on some of how it works to gain a spot there.
For those of you who have done it before, can you give me the non legal jargon version of the how to? And if there are any tips or specific zones or spots that may help a beginner?
