You are the first person I have ever "known" to get a pig at FHL. Congrats!!
Went out pig hunting last weekend in Fort Hunter Liggett... This was going to be the 3rd pig hunting trip in FHL this year... With our hopes up high we went in the training area early as possible trying to find any news tracks.... The morning went by with just a few fresh tracks and old rotting areas... I started to doubt that I'll see any pigs until the evening hunt.. We hunted until 1 pm and decided to go rest at the hotel... Around 5 pm we woke up and went back in the training area... Drove around until 6 and then i decided to hit the foothills with foot with my brother... Came across a lot of does and then a huge buck came right infront of us... We looked at it for a while and decided to move on... After walking around a bit and glossing the field right next to us... I heard a snapping sound... Fortunately it was my brother snapping his fingers pointing straight ahead where I see a group of pigs working their way straight at us.... With the wind in our favor we ducked and waiting for a opportunity... I aimed straight at the biggest boar but didn't realize at that point that my 7 Mag is sighted in bullseyes at 200 yards... Shot right over the boars head litteraly i could swear i scraped his skull a little... The pigs started running for their lives straight into the open field... By the time i got over the hill to find the pigs ... I noticed they were already about 300 yards out away from me... I aimed at the biggest one I could pick out and put one bullet straight into the spinal cord of this sow....

Pigs are all over fhl not just by the rivers and lakes. Always check North facing hills
I would guess that the pigs stay close to the rivers where there is mud and more food to root up?
