ducslayer,

Congratulations!

That would be one of the more successful group excursion in FHL. Overall, success rate for the camp maybe closes to mere 1 to 7%.

Sorry, I'd been away for a while and just got back. We were there, my youngest son, my beautiful wife and I. Congrats! We were not able to bring any home that weekend, but we never saw so much wildlife. We started in 10/13 and saw our first group of about 15-20 pigs hauling ham, after we heard some shooting just South of us (you perhaps?). We were unable to catch up to them. We moved around to other areas trying to get used to the place, since it was only our second time at FHL. We missed another group as it headed out of TA25, and scared one sleeper at the river, but it was too fast.
The big thing for us was the wildlife sightings. We watched a big doe nurse it's fawn, a racoon fighting it out with 2 vultures over a dead squirel, a beautiful blonde coyote (yes blonde), countless numbers of deer and elk, and huge turkeys.
The one thing I didn't like in TA 10/13 was the numerous roads criss-crossing through. It was hard to get away from vehicle traffic. But, it's like anywhere else, you got to spend some time in the field to get the best lay of the land.
I didn't pay attention to space numbers, so I don't know where #1 is, but we were in #8 I think. We were in my wife's silver 4x4 hyundai tucson with the (unfortuneately unused) pig rack on the back hitch.
Overall, a great weekend!
