Fort Liggett bust this past weekend

Went up to Fort Liggett this past weekend to do a bit of hog hunting. Only three 8,11, and 14) were open for centerfire. Saw lots of tracks and signs of pigs but did not see any hogs at all. Anyone else, had any luck there?

Hey buddy, I'll hopefully be heading out to FHL for this last weekend of the 2014 season. Just waiting for the weekend update on land availability.

What area(s) did you check in to?

Also, this will be our 1st time to FHL. Any tips to make the initial arrival process, etc go faster or easier?

Just a sec, Let me understand, it is the last day of the season and you are the first time to FHL?
Do you have FHL hunting permit for 2014-2015? You know that you cannot hunt there without their permit, right?

Ha yes I am aware. I have a 2day pig permit. Had it for a while, but I just not finally got a weekend off from work. The retai management business is not kind to those wanting multi day weekend trips, especially around ULTRA SALES, Memorial Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Easter, and the other 600 huge sale days lol

FHL-open areas

I've been watching the weekly open areas at FHL and have been seeing very few areas open, mostly for archery. When do the areas traditionally open up?

There is no tradition, there are military needs. When they have heavy training, like they have now, most of the TAs are closed and sometimes the whole FHL closed for more or less a month.
