I'm doing mine over from last topic.....To get a fresh start for the shed season..........
Of cource this is my first find a month or so ago............
Yesterday it was unseasonably warm here(in the 40's)so I went out to scout some antlers and deer........They are still carrying, but some are dropping...
Anyway I came upon this buck, looks like a shot to the chest, but must have been to small...............Or it ran and they couldn't find him......
Don't feel bad about still waiting on that first fresh shed of the year, your not alone.I've seen a few I know have dropped, but can't seem to find that first one.Good things come to those who wait...
Won't be long Sir..
That second buck doesn't look like he was laying too long.Do you still have any hunting still going on there or poachers?
hopefully it was a buck that the hunter couldn't find.... hate to see that happen... can't wait to see more to your collection as the season goes along
I think its from this seasons hunt, the cold preserved it............Coyotes haven't found him yet.I've been seeing lots of does too.......(dead)..
Here are the antlers off that dead buck............
Those fresh ones will be comming yet.....Slow for a lot of guys yet I think, although others seem to be doing quite well. Too bad about that buck...doesn't even look scavenged at all.
Bummer about that dead buck, he had some pretty good potential. I love that split brow! Won't be long now and you should start getting into the fresh ones
Seems like it huh..........lol....Some are still carrying, but spring is getting close....
Thinking of packing a lunch and head west of here about 150 miles and do some elk shedding again...
