Hi all, new to the forum, but have lurked for years. Reason I'm posting is that I was scouting for the spring turkey season and came across this stand in an area I plan on hunting. I'm hoping the owner scans this forum time to time and will message me so we can coordinate and dont step on each others toes this spring.

I'm not trying to start a debate on the ethics of leaving a stand on public out of season, just make sure I'm not messing up anyone else's hunt and they aren't messing up mine.

If it's yours, please message me here.

If someone leaves a stand there all year or for years doesn’t make it their spot.
But it’s up to you if he or you get there first.
If get to my spot and someone is there before me I will go elsewhere
My 2 cents

I understand. It's more that I don't want to be set up near there and have him go walking by me.

Also, getting to know the people who hunt particular patches of public can be helpful if you meet people who share beta in good faith

I recognize that particular stand and I thought it was abandoned since it had been there for years and was pretty overgrown. A buddy and I shot a few arrows from it in the offseason since neither of us had ever shot our bows from a tree stand. When I came back a few weeks later to scout, that gate at the bottom of the ladder had been welded on to keep people from getting up there. Oops.
