Free 64MB SmartMedia card

I submitted my rebate forms (I bought 4 different items that had rebates) many weeks ago, like the day after I received the cards. I haven't received any email from them yet. I'm beginning to wonder if they're legit.

Has anyone gotten confirmation emails from them?

guys I think we might have been had , I was trying to look up my rebate info and found a web site that called this a big ripoff . Hope this is not true.

Uh-oh. Looks like deer66 was right. I just found this link:

This is really bad, because I bought over $100 worth of stuff, thinking that I'd get about $75 in rebates.

I sent in my rebates right after I got them...I just got an email from Knight that said they have an I will get rebate soon.

Hopefully everyone will get theirs too.

Got an e-mail response from them today. Telling me again, that I sent in the wrong UPC label. Like Wilber, I trippple checked it before I sent it in. I figure that if I can't get my rebate in cold hard cash, I'll force more than that out of them in labor to answer my "Daily" queries.

A quick check of Reseller Ratings.com shows ecost with a low rating of 5 out of 10

I don't deal with companies below a rating of 8. There's a reason why they are rated so low. They hook you in with the supposed great price and then WHAM!!!

Read the first 3 reviews, that's all I need to see to run like crazy.

You want to keep from getting burned no matter how good the deal sounds? Hit Reseller Ratings first before you buy.

Hmmm. Dell is rated 3.x something. I've had great service from them.

As far as I am concerned, eCost.com has been superb. They sold me 64mb smartmedia cards for a good price and delivered them super fast. and provided the rebate forms online.

Now it is up to the fulfillment centers hired by Kingston and Viking to send out the rebate. I knew they would be sticklers for the details. I also noted one of them had two bar code looking things, only one was the UPC code.

I got an email from Kingston telling me to click the link to validate the claim, which led to a page offering me the $15 or three other options. I expect the $15 to arrive within 30 days. We'll see.

A valid email address may have been required. If you put in a fake one you may have trouble.

I have not heard from Viking.

Even without the rebate, I thought the price was good. I don't usually tell anyone when I make dumb mistakes, but I will this time. I will not be getting my rebate from Kingston or Viking because I failed to read instructions (never needed them before) and threw away the UPC codes with all the other packing. I got emails from both companies telling me to send in the UPC code. Oh well...

I called the phone numbers on the rebate forms. Viking says the rebate will be sent out shortly, Kingston says I will have to call back 6 weeks from the date I sent it in.
I hope everyone gets their rebates, hate to think it is a fraud.

found my rebates on-line today . says they have been accepted , It looks like the web site I seen is sour grapes about something else . (I hope ) . I guess we will all find out soon enough. I wasnt trying to stir anything up , just was letting you know what i had found so we could all watch them.

Thanks for the link. That page says one of the two rebates are being processed. The Kingston one was there, the Viking one was not. I sent them off at the same time. That's good news
