I am planning on a sick day tomorrow and will make it to FLH in the early afternoon. Can you access the TAs on Friday and scout or are they completely off limits like the rest of the week? I just want to get my pre-game strategy and make adjustments if necessary so Saturday morning I will already have a spot picked out and beat the guys in line.

FHL opened a bunch of TA's for this weekend. If any one is going I will be in a campsite with a green toyota tacoma. Looks like we may get a little rain to boot.

"I love it when a plan comes together!"

Off limits, can only do "scouting" from the main paved roads. If i were you i would drive to Los Padres you could hunt there and you never know what you might find.

ksberry, we were camped right next to you. We were in the green Ford 250. It was sure nice and quite in the campground and my friend and I were happy it was quiet enough to get a good night sleep.

We hunted 29 with no luck, saw everything including buffalo, but no pigs. FHL is a tough place to hunt.

Take care
Bill

Hey Bill thats funny.

I was in 25 all morning and didn't see any pigs but a few deer and a small herd of elk. I think they came for the closed area on the other side of Sam Jones Rd. Hunted both the north and south areas of 25 but nada. When I made it back to camp around noon there were 2 taken out of 30. It is just dry and hot there now and although I found a few tracks they lead to some thick cover and I was not going in alone.

Are you heading there for memorial weekend?

ksberry, no I am not planning on going up this Memorial Day. I might go back for archery deer and/or waterfowl/upland later in the year depending on how my out of state draws go.

Good luck in your hunting endeavers.
