Frustrated Pig Hunter

I have hunted for a very long time and being from michigan mostly deer, bear, and turkey... I now have tried pig hunting on public land by my ranch in Potter Valley ca. I must Suck at pig hunting because after a year I still have no pork. I want a piggy. Do any of you know of a guide around the mendocino lake county area. There is a guy about 15 mins from my house on hwy 20 by upper lake named mark that runs pig trips has anyone ever heard of him?

I have a guy I hunt with out of Healdsburg, his property is close to Lake Sonoma. look at my webshots at the bottom, all but one hog was taken with him. Be sure to tell him I sent you! His name is Ken Whitaker ph#530-474-4959. It's a semi-guided hunt, runs $350 for 2 days. No trophy fees. I took both of my boys there last year and they both scored on hogs.

He doesn't hunt during the summer months, I think he re-opens around the middle of October or so, if you call him he will tell you. I usually do pretty good, the last couple of times I've been there, we were in to hogs a lot. It's totally spot and stalk hunting, unless you want to run the dogs, I don't. What Ken does, is take you to places where he knows the hogs are hanging out, or where he's been seeing the freshest sign. Tells you how he thinks you should hunt that area, and will usually either meet up with you about noon or so, or will meet you back at camp. If you haven't seen any thing, he'll relocate you to another area. He hunts on about 20,000 acres of some very steep country. I go with about 6 - 8 other guys at one time, so he doesn't book anyone else, we have the whole place to ourselves. I've been hunting with him for about 15 years, and I have taken about 10 hogs.
