I was just wondering if anybody uses game cams on public land and if so how do you protect them from theives? i see you can chain some up but does that really deter people from taking them? thanks guys, Mark:patiotic-wavin-flag

HIDE IT WELL

If you can HIDE IT WELL!!!!!!!! I would use a IR camera instead of FLASH. My uncle had a few stolen that he swears someone had to have seen the flash go off to know where he had hid them.

like shmave said, hide the hell out of it and get the IR flash instead of the actual flash. lots of guys in san diego especially in Laguna Mountain get theirs yanked every year.

This hunter had no idea my camera was in the area. Its a gamble setting one up on public land, just don't make it obvious. If I'm seeing good sign in an area I'll back off and set my camera on some thick trails leading in and out.
