So I got approval from Don to have a special POR on the last weekend of January this year. However, as with all of the special PORs, I need to get 25 hunters minimum to do the event at the POR price of $450.

A lot of you guys have been after me to schedule a winter-time hunt. Well here it is. December was out of the question, so January was the next option and required some finagling (many thanks to Barbara) to get us in.

I'd like to see it come together.

So, it's on the calendar. Who would attend? Respond to the poll so I'll know if we should leave this on the calendar or let Barbara free it up for some other lucky group.

Spread the word, call your friends, and let me know. Application packets are not ready yet, so don't start sending me emails.

The other JHO/Tejon dates are posted in the pinned thread.

Hogassasen, it's any legal means, bow, muzzleloader, handgun or rifle. As far as I know, the only weapon that hasn't been used successfully for one of these hunts is a muzzleloader... our first archery kill (for the JHO POR) happened this past spring when OneTrack slipped a broadhead into a real nice hog.

Preference goes to JHO members, but friends and family are more than welcome.

Beast, I'm sure you're aware that Birddawg and I are constantly messing with each other, but there's DEFINITELY no animosity.

Man, this is a tough decision for me. It's the last weekend of waterfowl, and that is my all-consuming passion. Arrgh. Yes. Maybe. If I sign up I know I'll get a low number at LDC. Arrrrrrrgh. Spring JHO POR, fo shoooooo.

Mark, the dates are solid.

For all... the catch is this. If we don't get 25 hunters, then the price increases by about $100. We can cancel straight out at that point, or have a smaller hunt.

Either way, I have that weekend reserved. If you wanna hunt Tejon in the winter (a tricky proposition, weather-wise), this will be a great opportunity to do so.

I might be in for it, just don't know if I'd be able to make it to both the winter and summer hunts (And if not both, which one I'd rather do). I'm definately interested.

Shoot man. Not this year. I have a NV deer hunt in Dec, and another hog hunt in Feb.
