By the way, there was at least one much bigger hog in the group (I'd guess over 200lbs), but I intentionally targeted this little guy. Hunting by myself and down in that hellhole, I just didn't want to deal with packing out a monster. The little ones eat best anyway.

WTG Phil. I 2ND THAT MOTION.

Steve, next time I have a spare pocket full of transcontinental airline tickets, I'll be sure and keep your offer in mind.

But you know what'll happen... YOU will shoot one right on the road. Me? I'll still whack 'em in a hellhole.

But it's OK. I've accepted that this is my lot in life... every pig will be in a hellhole, and every deer will be on a distant ridge. At least I've had relatively good luck with elk.

Nice work as usual......I wish someone would shoot a pig in the vitals so we can see the performance of the Etip, but I don't blame you for the sure thing head shot.

Dang, Mark... you REALLY wanna see a pig shot in the vitals, huh?

As far as ETip performance, I shot my blackbuck through the shoulders (high shoulder) in TX this spring... hit spine and made a good mess, although not as devastating as the same hit with an Accubond on the blacktail I shot last fall. Bang flop

My brother shot his Tejon pig in May through the lungs with the ETip (using my Savage 30-06... same rifle shown here). Pig dove in the bush about 10 yards and died right there. He described the damage as "pretty good", but unfortunately I didn't get to see or photograph the carcass since I was busy dragging my own hog out that night.

I also used the 30-06 ETips on my fallow deer at Native Hunt this summer. Again, high shoulder makes for quick kill... decent blood and respectable, but not crazy, wound channel. I'd put it on par with a Nosler Partition.

Bottom line, I think they do a little more damage than the Barnes, but they're still gonna pass clean through... even on heavy bone hits. They've been extremely accurate for me in the 30-06, and if they start to produce them in 8mm, I'll try them in the .325 as well.

But keep in mind, I'm also pretty happy with the performance of the Barnes ammo.

I gave away two boxes of the 300 win mag ETips, one to GrtWythunter and one to Jesse. Dunno if they got used on critters or on paper, since I never got their reviews (fellas).
