Getting Started Elk Hunting

Try the outfittersnetwork too! I'd be booking wth John at srjoutfitters too this year if I hadn't gotten a better offer this year. Though I haven't hunted with him, he's the real deal. At least in North NM. He actually calls you back. I lucked out and ran into a great guide and outfitter in the Gila. The Reservations are great hunts, but very pricey. You can do better and for alot less...IMHO

Shay offers a great hunt at fair prices.

My brotgher and I hunted with him last year and had a great time. We had 300-400 head of elk in front us opening day and they all got blown out by another hunting party.

We were unable to fill our tags but did get a couple shots off. It's well worth the money, Shay and his crew will put you on the animals.
It's up to you from there.
