There are plenty of pigs there also. Wu has 4 ranches near there, 2 on each side of the 58. 3 have good pig populations. They all have a lot of deer and the ones that border tejon have elk. Too bad there is no longer a real turkey population there.

Wow... I went up to the Valley this weekend and could not believe the size of the elk. While I was driving my mother told me that just after the firehouse in the tall grass field, look out for elk. I thought she was joking but when we got to the field I saw about 3 or 4 big elk. They were under the 2 shade trees just relaxing. I am going to go back this weekend and try for some better pics.

let me know if anyone would like to go hike in the valley. Lots of game around to track and glass.

new update.... The hogs are back and getting close to our land. I told my mom to let me know the min any of them are on our land. We will try for the dep permit and than its game on. I think the pigs have come from Tejon. BVS land borders up to Tejon. Maybe with the pig hunting over there, some have pushed over to our valley.

BVS is a no hunt valley. There is lots of nice homes up there and I guess some of the people like too look at the wild life. I also want to look at it but on the bbq. But rules are rules. I am trying to get info on the dep permit. I have heard that the Bear Valley PD are the only ones that can shot a pig. Sounds crazy to me and makes me wonder, how often they are out doing that and what do they do with the meet?

Is it no hunt, or just no firearms? Could you use archery equipment with permission?

its no hunting. look up bear valley springs. It is the next valley over from Tejon. If people could hunt the land.... they would be lined up at the gate 24 hours a day all year. We have a gun range up there. So for sure its not no guns in the valley. But because of the nice homes and the fact that some people just like to look at the wild life, we cant hunt. The cool part about the valley is its size and the amount of game. Lots of birds, deer and big elk. Real nice place to roam around.

Bump for a old thread. I was thinking about the date and it made me think of post #2. Funny stuff. I can't believe it has been so long since I first found this cool site.

Everything looks nice out. Lots of game to glass and track. Was hot a few days last week, but cooled off now. Time to get boots on the ground.
