I am saving up for the Swarovskis... Since glassing is important, which is better the SLC 15's or EL 10's?
The ELs are 10X42 and SLCs are 15X56. They have 10X50s also in the SLC line. Would the 50s let more light in?

Thanks!

I would go for the 8.5x42 EL's. They're lighter than the SLC's. My buddy has the 10x42 SLC's and they're very nice, and cheaper too.

If your going to spend the money why not buy the best there is? The best binocular out there is the 8X42 Nikon Venturer LX. Check it out.

It all depends on what type of terrain your hunting. Here in Az, where you can see for ever, the high power glass is most popular. If you are hunting more broken terrain, where your visabilty is limited to 400-600 yards max the 7-10's will work better. In order to use the 15's you will need a tri-pod for sure. You will be AMAZED how much more you will see with a tri-pod mounted glass of any magnification.

I prefer an 8x glass for my hunting, combined with a 15-45x60mm spotting scope for the longer ranges.

I think it would be cool if the bino companies started making good, waterproof variable power binos in a roof prism design. Like 8-15x zoom, and lightwieght of course. Affordable would be nice as well.
