Goin Pig huntin

Hey everyone,
My dad and I are goin up to Parkfeild tomorrow night to go pig huntin... We will be goin on a guided hunt with Boaring Experiences.

My mom and I got the hunt for my dads fathers day gift.... We are goin to hunt pigs and yotes... Im really lookin foward to the hunt.... Ill make sure I post when I get back.... later nofear

Goodluck, Your gonna have a great time. Kyler and crew run a "TopNotch" operation. Parkfield is one of my favorite areas to hunt hogs. Kyler has access to some great ranches. I dont think you will be disappointed at all. Cant wait to hear the story and see the pictures. Be safe and enjoy your trip....

P.S. You'll proabably meet up at the Cafe in town..Make sure after your hunt you stop in the cafe and have a steak..The cafe serves up some of the best.

Just exactly where is this Parkfield Cafe located. Never been there, but keep reading in JHO how great the steaks are. Would like to treat the family to a steak dinner next time we come up to San Luis Obispo or FHL. Can you give me the exact crosstreet. Thanks.

There really is no cross streets. If you know where Parkfield is, the Cafe is right in the center of town. Everything in town is pretty much within a few hundred yards of eachother (School, Parkfield Cafe, Parkfield Inn, Etc). I think the population is up to 39 right now, so you could ask one of the 39 residents..

The food at the cafe is AWESOME. Make sure you get a steak, the beans and fries will blow your mind. I'm gettin hungry just thinkin about it. Enjoy!!!!!

Hey everyone,
So me and my dad got to parkfeild wed night and spent the night at the parkfeild inn... It was pretty nice, mounts hanging on the walls ect.... So we got up at 430 and were ready by 515... We met our guide Kyler and we got in his truck... We all went to a barley feild and kyler spotted a pig. We start to make a stalk on it but the wind changed and the pig started running... We ran to a game trail that Kyler knew it would use.. We got there the same time the pig did... My dad and I were able to take a couple standing shots at about 150 yards while the pig was running... We missed it

So Kyler takes us to another ranch... We start glassing and didn’t see anything.. So we went to this canyon and walked the canyon to see if we could find any pigs under oak trees.... no luck.... We got back in his truck and we started driving and we saw a couple yotes.... It was still pretty early in the morning so I didn’t shoot at them.. As we were driving Kyler told us to make sure we still kept our eyes open even though it was 8:00 and 80 degrees already.... About 20 mins later I look down into this little canyon and I yell Pigs! Kyler slams on the breaks my dad gets right on the pigs and was so excited I couldn’t get my scope on them. The pigs start running and my dad starts firing at this big boar. A couple of the pigs go over the hill not shot (including the big boar) so my dad picks out a nice black meat pig and blast him... There were 3 more pigs left and a bunch of piglets.... I had to really concentrate I wanted to make sure I didn’t shoot the wet sow... I found a reddish meat pig and let one lose... I shot too far back a gut shot it

... Then my dads pig got up and started to run so Kyler let one loose to put it down.... Then Kyler grabbed his .44 and went looking for my pig in the brush.... We crawled around for 30 mins and the blood trail disappeared....

.... We looked a little longer but couldn’t find it.... So then we went back and found my dads pig, which was still alive... I could believe it 150 gr .30-06 and .300 mag in it and the pig still wasnt dead. Kyler shot the pig once in the head and another behind the shoulder.... We dragged my dads pig out took pics and Kyler cleaned and gutted it.... My dad and I went back to the Inn took a nap and ate at the Parkfeild cafe.... I had a steak and it was sooo good..... Really good food there..... At 530 Kyler picked us up we shot at his sporting clay range and then went out for an evening hunt.... We didn’t see anything.. I was kinda disappointed but I had my chances, I had a great time though.... Kyler is a great guide, has great hunting ethics, and I am decently going back to him for another guided hunt.... Sorry for such a long story....nofear
