Going Hog Hunting at FHL

So me and my buddy are going hog hunting at FHL this weekend, hoping for a decent TA to be open. This will be our first time at FHL, so if any experienced rifle hog hunters have any advice or recommended TA's that would be nice. I know the basics to hog hunting and know that I need to get out there and beat feet to see it for myself. But besides that any tips, or strategies? Plus whats the best way to stay there camping or motel?

Are you Sure the base is even open for hunters?? If you have never been there do you know all the rules and procedures for getting on? If you are not familiar with how to access the base I think you are in for a big surprise. It is deer season and the amount of people standing around can remind you of a small rock concert. Be prepared. I am no longer familiar with all the current procedures but I think you can find some info on their website.
Just to give you an idea I used to get in line early Friday morning and HOPE for a good area. The line of cars would be 1 mile long. I heard that the lines are no longer allowed but not sure.
Last I heard you have to preregister any firearms you intend to hunt with. I know my hunting buddies are checking in and out differently than I ever did before so I am not really sure about all the rules.
Finding hogs in hot weather is difficult and IF you get on find water. Finding cover is easy.
If you are truly a new guy trying to hunt the base good luck. If you are just trying to see what reaction you get to a FHL question well you got one answer at least.

Thanks man, and yes I am all registered and firearms registered. Thanks for the info, I don't expect it to be easy and thought the heat would keep some hunters away. I am active duty and just have never hunted there, so me and my thought it be good. thanks anyways.
