Going to Benz Ranch

Has any WU members been to Benz Ranch lately? I am going with my daughter this weekend. I have heard that is VERY hot there right now. Any input would be helpful.

I went there about three weeks ago. Very hot. Have a good four wheel drive vehicle. Pigs are on the back side, but you go up a jeep trail to get there. Head down towards the ponds, go up the hill on the road between the first two ponds. Pigs are on the ridge and other side of the hill.

My next WU trip is to Rinconada for deer in September. I feel lucky to have drawn that ranch.

S.K.: thanks for the tip. I have been there before so I know where you are talking about. I have seen some on the hills to the right of camp on the next ranch and a lot of sign on the road that connects to Cummings. I am going to camera the trail above that road. I will let you know how we do.

Went to Rinconada for an opener a few years back. Saw lots of deer, lots of forkies but no 3bys. Lots of turkeys also. Good luck on your trip.

When did WU open up the Benz Ranch for pig hunting since it closed on 4/29? I know Cummings Ranch was opened til 6/24/07. But Benz? Did I missed something in the fliers?

Just got back. SCORE ! ! !

Story and pics to follow. Have to get the pictures off of my daughters camera tomorrow. But...it was HOT ! Only hunt able early am and at last light.
