Going wide

I bought the Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM lens this week. It is the widest lens that Canon offers for the 20 & 30D camera bodies. I like landscape images a little more than wildlife images and I almost bought this lens before the 300mm (I already had the 18-55mm so I wasn't in a big hurry).

Anyway... here is an image from today... it was taken @ a focal length of 22mm, I'll have to take a drive to use it @ 10mm.

Oh yeah, I dig good B&W's... something that is a lot harder to do than I once thought. I think I will try dedicating my time to taking B&W Landscapes (you should pick one type of photography and try to become good at that one subject).

Yes, very nice, I too like B/W anything, I went to a gallery once showing B/W large format from the 30's during the depression and it was mostly people photos but those B/W were just stunning.

Quailsroost, I have the "National Geographic Field Guide for Digital Black & White" photography which has a few pictures that were taken with medium format cameras. They are also stunning, it almost makes me wish that I had bought a Hasselblad, Mamiya, Rollei, or the Canon EOS-1 Ds Mark II... all of them are way out of my price range, lol, the Rollei cost $15,000

Paul nice work here. the first one is very appealing to me and keeps me wanting to study it (kind of meditate on it). The second one is good, but just dosnt have the power behind it that the first one does. But please, dont stop doing colors for us to view!

Thanks Hideandwatch, in the second image I was trying to make the weeds/twigs which are sticking up through the ice the main focus of the image. I couldn't get close enough to make it work.

A statement, not a question

Thanks Zach, and yes it's a lil addicting, lol. I've got two more lenses on my list, a dedicated macro and a good lightweight walk'n around lens (not in a big hurry for either one).
