Golden Ram PIG??????????

So I would like to ask any MEMBERS out there if the pig Hunting on the Golden Ram properties is good??? Do the quota's fill up fast???? And why is the Hedgepath ranch's pig season so short??????? I am thinking of becoming a member.

i wouldnt join, i met the president once and he seemed quite strange kinda thaught he was god or something.he didnt know i was a big game hunter feeling him out! most clubs like golden ram or wilderness unlimited have lots of properties with lots of ground squirles and lizzards.some are in deer or pig range but are way over hunted and the game stays clear. ever hunt opening day of deer season in calif? by 8:00 am it sounds like a war with all the yahoos shooting off all thier bullets cause they didnt see nothin and they gotta get home to moma.well same thing with these clubs, but i guess if you live in L.A and you need a place to shoot rodents they will gladly take your $2,000 a year!

Well I live in San Jose. Im gonna go to the Sacramento sportsmans expo and talk to one of there reps. But I wanted to get some other feed back before then. Im near their property in Sonoma and wanted access to that and some more places up in the Deer B-Zone/Bear area. Thanks for all the input.

The Hedgepath ranch is a great ranch with alot of hogs.The quota does go fast on that ranch because the ranch has a good hog population.As for the membership fees and such...it's costly,but they do have some great ranches.People think because they pay these membership fees,they are going have plenty of game standing out in the open waiting to be harvested.Nick has some great ranches and if you put in some time on a specific ranch or ranches,you will harvest plenty of game.I killed my biggest blacktail on the Old Diamond H ranch years ago and we took a couple solid book bucks off that ranch.As for people out shooting guns because they're bored,never had that problem.Nick has patrol guys running around most busy weekends, member complaints would have Nick pulling the violators membership.Go see Nick and Pat at the ISE show in Sac and tell them your concerns.He may even let you check out a ranch for a weekend for a hog.....

If you can get out at least 10 times a year, GR is a good option. Comparatively, the membership costs are not all that high. Plus they have waterfowl properties.

Just curious....What do they charge for membership? When I checked out WU, it was basically, a one time initiation fee and the basic membership. I think after everything was added up to hunt hogs, it was gonna cost me $2200 for the first year and $1500 for every year after that. How many pigs do they allow per year? Etc..Thx

If you hunt archery A zone you will have a blast chasing the pigs around while you deer hunt. The hedgepeth ranch has alot of pigs. There are pigs all through that country. The quota fills up fast because there are alot of pigs. If you go on a guided hunt it will cost you $500 each trip. The rates are reasonable. If you look at what you can hunt Deer,bear,pig turkeys,ducks, qual,geese,grouse dove and so on its worth the money. If you spend the time on the ranches you will get your game. Alot of people join thinking there going to have easy hunting. You still have to hunt. Your camp is behind gates and you don't have to worry about it when you hunting. You have some really nice people that will help you out. Its worth my money!!!! good luck.
