I just got a new Tribute, still waiting on the site and rest. Once I get all the pieces, I'll be ready to head up to L. S. next month for some hunting. You 2 up for it? I can't wait. -YB
I have to make this quick because I am going out fishing! Got home last night from an archery hunt...I have premission to archery hunt on a neighbor's place, close to my property up North. I was also looking to fill two A/O deer tags on my place!
LD any myself got up to the ranch the night before last, and headed out looking for pigs. We split up on to two different ridges and began to glass. About an hour befor dark, I saw a BIG black boar out at about 500 meters feeding away from my location, onto the neighbor's ranch--game over. Just before the end of legal shooting light, LD got into three hogs and made a stock to about 60 yeards before they fed off.
The next morning, LD put a stalk on a forkie, but did not get a shot...I had a coyote at 80 but could not seal the deal. In the afternoon, we took a drive over to a neighboring parcel, higher up in the hills. We saw a few more pigs on pvt land on the way there. On the other parcel, we spooked a bear down in a creek bottom, but did not see any buck.
Last night I did not see nothing but LD was able to glass up two boars in an unstalkable spot...
We will be back soon!
Pictures: A hog on the road yesterday...on neighboring pvt land, a hog rub on my Neighbor's property and a hog track in a pond that was made several hours before we go there!
Tuesday evening I had spotted a group of pigs a few hundred yards away and decided to pull an AS
and put the stalk on. Closed the distance to within 60 yards but not enough light and they were feeding away from me. We saw alot of pigs in a day and a half but couldn't close the deal on any of them. If I was hunting with a rifle we'd have some dead pigs, but like they say "guns for show - bows for pros".
