Well a couple of weekends ago i shot a real nice trophy hog. Had close to 3 inch teeth and weighed a ton. I was just curious how much it weighed. I got my meat from the locker back all boned out and i got 123lbs of meat back so was just wonderin what you boys thought live weight might be? It took three of us to lift it into the truck. I will try to post pics if i can figure out how maybe i can email them to one of ya picture veterans and you could put it up.

You got back 123 lbs of BONELESS meat?

Holy cow, but that must've been one BIG hog. If you go with the "rule of thirds", that would put your critter in excess of 360lbs! Even keeping it conservative would put you in the 300lb range. Definitely a keeper!

Congrats ! Sounds like a monster, I can't wait to see the pics. Of the 123#, was a lot of it sausage? How much filler do they add in? Just a thought related to total meat weight.

Have BBQ will travel.... I may be wrong here but I think the last sow I shot field dressed at 160lbs. and I believe at the butcher it weighed just shy of 100lbs and I believe I took home about 60lbs of meat.

Come on man, we need pictures....

Wow! You're looking at well north of 300 lbs. That is huge! Many people say they have seen or killed estimated 300lb pigs. I asked a central coast guide who probably sees 150-200 pigs killes a year and he said they might get 1 or 2 a year of that size. Your's had to be a monster. Got any pictures?

Dad's boar from Tejon in March weighed #140 dressed and got 56lbs meat, so yours was a monster.

Let's see the pics

well my receipt said 123# The weight was under the cut wrap and freeze portion. My bill was around 68 dollars. and i got no sausage everything boned out and made into steaks or stew meat. the guy at the locker guessed around 250 and 275 but i think that was conservative. my guess was 275 plus, post pics later. after work

That is probably hanging carcass weight prior to butchering. The few butchers charge that way at least. That would put it in the 250-275 weight range realistically I think. Now if it was 123# once butchered and that is the weight of the meat alone, you are talking a whole bunch bigger, maybe 350. Just guessing. Either way it's a dandy.

Very nice hog. Was that private or public? You will kill my soul if you say public!
